Charles as a Leader

Leading a team of creatives comes naturally to me. I am a leader who values the growth and development of my teammates. Getting the best work out of creatives is a delicate dance. People have vastly different leadership needs. Some need timely based feedback with concrete examples. Others need a gentle hand to keep them on track when they’re lost in the void of over-explaining and over-writing. Some just need a receptive mind to bounce ideas off-of. At the end of the day, a creative leader is kind, service oriented, and empathetic.

Charles as a Writer

I have a knack for natural storytelling, a heart for strategy, and a contagious charisma that brings teams together. I am a never ending pit of ideas. I can craft copy to fit giant year-long national campaigns or write small intimate local ads that reference jokes only the “locals” understand. Effective copy does not just persuade, it creates a connection with the audience, leaves a lasting impression, and makes the audience feel understood and seen.

I approach copywriting, and creative, like a sport. Practice makes perfect, and staying up to date on the best strategies separates the good from the legendary. The use of AI is a complex situation, we’ve seen it butcher big brands reputations with the rise of “Corpo AI slop” as it’s referred online. I do not use AI to fully generate work, I use AI more as an assistant rather than a co-writer. I never allow AI to generate copy or to fully edit my work. I do use AI to re-format paragraphs, insert templates, help me research demographic information as I fact-check it, or to assist with writer’s block.

I am the writer, I am the voice, I am the creative. AI is a collaborative thesaurus, dictionary, and formatting tool that makes me more effective, more efficient, and more competitive.

I have experience using the following AI tools: ChatGPT, Jasper, CopyAI, and CreAItive.

Charles as a Teammate

I have a big personality, and I cannot help but be happy, exuberant, and excited. My current team calls me the office “golden retriever.” I treat my team how I would treat all people, with respect, honesty, empathy, compassion, and unyielding friendliness. All positions and jobs can be stressful, but with a good attitude, a good laugh, and a bigger smile, I can turn any project into a fun time. If my personality were a color, it would be yellow.
